Fred's reputation of being an informative and entertaining public speaker has grown rapidly since August of 2006, when Fred was announced as the winner of the Australian Government Eureka Prize for Promoting Understanding of Science. The Hon Julie Bishop, MP, Commonwealth Minister for Education, Science, and Training announced his award.
Since then, he's been the recipient for the UNSW Bragg Prize for Science Writing, Queensland Literary Awards for Science Writing, an APRA Award for his contribution on the Choral work by Ross Edwards, and most notably an Order of Australia for his service to the popularisation of science.
Large and small corporate businesses, The Supreme Court, State Library NSW, The Australian Museum and Australian Geographic, Astronomical Societies, Planetariums, Schools, and several event organisers all testify to the enjoyment of hearing Fred's talks. A summary of Fred's talks can be found here, but he can pick up on just about any space topic you may like to know about.
